Working Location: Ningbo

Job Outline:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to the team members on equipment purchasing, composite manufacturing and testing. The candidate also needs to provide equipment and H&S training to the team members, and support technical manager on lab management.

 Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelor degree of Mechanical Engineering, Materials  Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline;
  • Confident in the use of workshop/ laboratory activities including natural and synthetic fibre manufacturing and processing, fibre reinforced composite manufacturing and materials testing;
  • Must be able to work with chemical solvents, resins and adhesives;
  • Implementing and working to international standards of health and safety;
  • Skills of using manufacturing tools
  • Good organisational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently when required;
  • Good communication skills;
  • Computer literacy;
  • Have experience on composite manufacture or research;
  • Good organizational and time management skills;

  • Problem solving skills;
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure;
  • Attention to details;
  • Can-do attitude;

Desirable

  • Master degree in relevant discipline;
  • In depth knowledge and experience in polymer or polymer composite manufacture and testing;
  • Skilled in automotive composite manufacture and testing standard;
  • Polymer composite material research or relevant working experience;
  • Skilled in composite characterization;
  • Composite industry exploit experience is preferred;
  • Working experience in other relevant areas;
  • Good time management and reasoning skills;
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide team members (Ph.D. student and staff) support for composite research and related objects;
  • To provide the support for composite manufacture and testing;
  • To give training to the staff and Ph.D. students on composite manufacture or testing;
  • To support technical manager for the lab management;
  • To collect the composite information from industry and market and feedback to team members;
  • To ensure the safe disposal of materials, to work in an orderly manner, observing the University‚Äôs health and safety policies and the specific rules of the workshop and laboratories safety regulations;
  • Independent or cooperate with others to apply project funding;
  • To undertake project research independently if necessary or deliver the research as part of collaborative team and contribute to the achievement if specific research objectives;
  • To participate in training and staff development schemes as trainee as appropriate;
  • To maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness;
  • To undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
