Dean in Academic
The University of South Australia’s Division of Information Technology, Engineering and the Environment is recognised as a world-leader in teaching and research and has received a range of accolades for outstanding education, student and graduate satisfaction, and world-class research.
The Division is seeking to appoint a Dean: Academic, a core member of the executive team who will play a central role in the decision making of the Division. The primary purpose of the role is to provide leadership in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning, with a particular focus on driving the digital agenda and transforming academic programs and international engagement.
Reporting to the Pro Vice Chancellor, other responsibilities include leading the student experience agenda, fostering industry partnerships and placements, and strengthening the nexus between research, teaching and professional practice across the Division.
The role calls for a flexible thinker with the ability to work on projects to embed practice-based innovation thinking into programs. The Dean will develop a culture of scholarship while leading digital transformation. They will possess strategic planning skills and a highly organised approach, supported by well-developed leadership skills which include the ability to influence and persuade. A sound understanding of the information technology, engineering and the environment disciplines will be essential.
