The tenure-track professor will be responsible for teaching and advising at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including graduate analysis for composers, graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, and introductory and upper-level undergraduate composition courses in the broadest range of styles and genres in theater, media and/or mixed media collaborations. The ideal candidate will design courses suitable for cross-listing with the Theater, Dance and Media (TDM) undergraduate concentration.

Additional Qualifications

Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching is desired.

Special Instructions

Please submit the following materials through the ARIeS portal (http://academicpositions.harvard.edu/postings/7876). Candidates are encouraged to apply by November 17, 2017; applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.

  2. Curriculum Vitae, including a list of works and performances, as relevant.
  3. Teaching statement (describing teaching approach and philosophy)
  4. Creative/research statement
  5. Names and contact information of 3 referees, who will be asked by a system-generated email to upload a letter of recommendation once the candidate’s application has been submitted. Three letters of recommendation are required, and the application is considered complete only when at least three letters have been received.
  6. Please provide THREE representative samples of your creative work of no more than 15 minutes duration each. These samples may be extracts of a larger work or a complete work. You may submit performance recordings or scores in pdf format, or a combination:

  • For scores, submit them in pdf format through the ARIeS portal using Writing Samples 1-3.
