Senior Research Technician, Biology

Facilitate and conduct field and laboratory research. Manage a laboratory composed of undergraduate and graduate students where research projects focus on nutrient cycling in forest ecosystems. Collect plant materials, soil and water samples throughout the Northeastern U.S. Analyze their chemical content and manage a database. Use equipment including a gas chromatograph, a carbon-nitrogen autoanalyzer, an inorganic nutrient autoanalyzer and an isotope ratio mass spectrometer.
Bachelor's degree required, strong chemistry and/or analytical background and knowledge of ecology, the ability to work independently in the lab and in the field, and one to three years of experience. Ability to travel throughout the northeast on a regular basis during the year is necessary.
