The School of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering (MME) powers knowledge and innovation through research and development of new engineering solutions to meet the needs of tomorrow’s society and industry.MME is seeking an outstanding teacher and researcher in Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 (IIoT) to join the UTS Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology’s growing team.

About the role

As an Associate Professor/Professor within UTS: FEIT, you will actively contribute to the teaching, learning and research portfolio of the School of Mechanical & Mechatronic Engineering within the area of Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 (IIoT).

Reporting to the Head of School, you will develop and align content and delivery to the UTS Model of Learning to ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of internal and external stakeholders.

You will work with the Deputy Head of School (Teaching and Learning) to develop subjects and industry aligned short course in Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 (IIoT) and related areas.

You will work with the Deputy Head of School (Research) to align your research with the strategy of the School and Faculty. In addition, you will partner with other units within the University including the Graduate Research School and the Research and Innovation Office and establish collaborations with staff from other units, schools and faculties.

Skills and Experience:

  • A PhD in mechanical, mechatronics and/or manufacturing engineering
  • Expertise in Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 (IIoT)
  • A strong industry-focused track record in Advanced Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 (IIoT)
  • Extensive experience and ability to teach and coordinate subjects and develop curriculum within the areas mechanical, mechatronics and/or manufacturing engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to implement teaching methods that align with the UTS Model of Learning and Learning.Futures
  • Recent industry experience will be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collegial and collaborative workplace

Remuneration

Base Salary Range:$146,412 - $182,053 (Level D – E)

This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This position is full time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
