The Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food innovation
The Queensland Alliance for Agriculture and Food Innovation (QAAFI) is a unique research institute in Australia – a jointly funded initiative of UQ and Agri-Science Queensland and Biosecurity Queensland, part of the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF). QAAFI conducts research and development to benefit the food and fibre sector both nationally and internationally.
The Institute's strengths are reflected in its three research centres – the Centre for Plant Science, the Centre for Animal Scienceand the Centre for Nutrition and Food Sciences. QAAFI brings together scientists from UQ and DAF to conduct high-end science that delivers higher impact outcomes for industry and the community.
QAAFI offers postgraduate programs in the disciplines of Plant, Animal and Food sciences internally and externally and provides professional training to both Australian and international students.
The successful applicant will participate in editing and writing up SIMLESA’s Book in collaboration with colleagues in Australia and Africa. You will also contribute to the groups web design and publication, as well as collaborate with systems modellers and statisticians in the analysis of household survey data collected in 2010, 2013 and 2015, and writing up of research articles. The position is based in Toowoomba, Queensland.
Applicants should possess a PhD in the Agriculture. You should have demonstrated expert knowledge in the area of data management and analysis, and evidence of a contribution to research, including publications in high impact journals. It would be advantageous if you had also Developed industry liaisons and professional contacts.

This is a full-time, fixed term appointment until 30 June 2018 (with the possibility of extension) at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545 - $87,535 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408 - $102,416 p.a.).
