The Office of Financial Services is responsible for a wide range of Finance functions as a service to Charles Darwin University staff and cost centres. These include - promoting sound financial management to enable good decision-making that will ensure the University's financial sustainability. Ensuring all statutory and regulatory returns are compiled accurately, efficiently, and on time, leading to clean audits. Providing high quality and innovative financial and organisational solutions for services, products, and programs. Exceeding internal customer expectations by providing seamless, friendly service via training, visits, development of staff, user-friendly systems and web access. Providing high quality management reporting, planning and budgeting frameworks. Ensuring world class systems, relevant benchmarking information, high quality training, and excellent financial analysis, and managing a world class treasury function.

As Manager Accounts Payable you manage the accounts payable functions of the University and the Accounts Payable team, including its output and client relations, its team development and its future directions, in harmony with the University’s business requirements. In this role you will plan and recommend approaches in relation to the section’s staffing matters such as recruitment, performance reviews and leave.

In addition you will determine and monitor the output of the section, including delegating tasks, managing workloads, prioritising demands and monitoring outcomes for quality and quantity, as well as train new staff to gain the skills and knowledge needed to undertake a role within the section and in the foundations required for working in other positions within the division.

To be successful you require a relevant degree with subsequent relevant experience, extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Essential to this role is your ability to work as a team leader including making decisions, setting priorities and adapting to change. Knowledge of Oracle Financials and experience in the use of Lotus Notes and Excel will be well regarded.
