Anglia Ruskin is a vibrant workplace and our University is gaining prominence both nationally and internationally. We have ambitious plans for the future and we are determined that our students and staff will realise their full potential. Our main campuses in the cities of Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough have been transformed with major capital investment. With an annual turnover of over £200m, we are a major force for higher education and one of the largest universities in the East of England.

Our Library Services play a pivotal role in achieving our University’s academic and student-centred ambitions; through the provision of a wide-range of high quality information services in three main library centres with access to a large collection and the latest in library management technology.

As the new University Librarian you’ll provide strategic leadership of all library services and be a member of the Corporate Management Team reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). Responsible for approximately 90 staff, you’ll provide service excellence focussed on the development of a transformational digital strategy, a blended approach to knowledge management and the development of a modern, innovative and vibrant library environment. Responsible for the management of all associated resources you’ll also take the lead in change management, service improvements and be expected to be a contributing member of the University Library’s Senior Management Team.

Educated to degree level, you’ll possess a relevant higher degree or postgraduate qualification and be a Chartered Member of CILIP. With extensive experience of managing library services in an academic context, you’ll have demonstrable experience of developing strategies and a proven track-record of innovation and change management in large and complex organisations. An inspirational leader, you’ll also have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to influence at the highest levels of senior and academic management. A forward looking and modernising approach is essential for our highly ambitious and progressive University during an exciting period of growth.
