The Higher Degree Research Office (HDRO) 

The Higher Degree Research Office (HDRO) manages the administration of the University's Higher Degree Research (HDR) Degrees, including the MRes program. The HDR Management and Scholarships Team is responsible for the management of the full student cycle of research and research training scholarships for domestic and international candidates.  The team is responsible for the administration of all co-funded, industry and Cotutelle/Joint PhD scholarships.

The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a HDR Management Officer (Scholarships) within the Higher Degree Research Office. Reporting to the HDR Manager, Scholarships and Management, you will provide administrative support and advice to current and prospective higher degree research students and staff on scholarship opportunities, applications and management.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position applicants must respond to the selection criteria below and attach as a separate document in the application process.

  • A relevant degree and or equivalent qualification and experience
  • A good track record of working in a customer service environment
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills both written and verbal, including explaining complex policies or concepts in a clear and understandable manner
  • Demonstrated resilient and flexible attitude and the ability to work well in a high volume and repetitive environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Australian Higher Education Environment. A comprehensive knowledge of the higher degree research environment is highly desirable
  • A track record of applying existing policies, guidelines and principles to tasks and applying judgement to solve or resolve variations and suggest improvements to the work area

Salary Package: Base salary from $80,231 to $88,561 per annum (Level 6), plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading
