About the job

The Unit of Research and Innovation Services provides support for the management of research, and administers internal and national competitive research grants. It is also responsible for ensuring the responsible and ethical conduct of research, for the management of centralised research facilities and for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to improve the quality of the experience and outcomes for postgraduate research students.

This is a newly created and rewarding position that will see the Senior Animal Ethics Officer have the responsibility of contributing to the ethical framework within which research and teaching activities involving animals are conducted. 

Skills and Experience

You will have tertiary qualifications and experience in a relevant field or demonstrated equivalent skills, experience and knowledge. You will have extensive familiarity and knowledge of statutory requirements, guidelines and legislation relating to animal ethics and related issues. Your high level communication skills along with excellent analytical, research and writing skills to enable effective synthesis of complex data and the provision of high quality evidenced based reports is essential for this role.
