Senior Research Technician, College of Arts & Sciences, Biology
Support research (under the direction of the Principal Investigator) into the neural coding principles underlying the learning and execution of skilled behaviors in behaving animals. The candidate will prepare and maintain research and laboratory materials, make observations, and assist with data collection and analysis. This may include: developing and running behavioral assays, surgical placement of (electrical or optical) recording devices, performing basic histological techniques, and using computer-based analysis routines to interpret experimental results. The candidate will also help to oversee daily laboratory operations, including organization and ordering of laboratory supplies, assistance with protocol development and compliance, and performing routine laboratory maintenance. The individual must work and communicate well with others and have high standards of professionalism. Ability and willingness to work directly with animals is essential.
