Director of Europa Point Language Centre (EPLC)

About the Role:

The Director of the EPLC will be responsible for establishing and leading the Language Centre. This will involve business planning to identify commercially viable provision that includes short, professional, and academic courses, as well as research, consultancy work, and, in due course pre- sessional support for incoming international students who are not native English speakers. Assuring University income from the language school activities will be a key responsibility of this position.

The Director will also be responsible for seeking and obtaining professional accreditations and assuring adherence to quality and professional requirements, as well as, liaising with senior colleagues across the University, notably the Business School, in order to ensure that the Language Centre’s curriculum offer meets the needs of the whole institution as well as broader local and regional priorities.

About You;

A commercially minded professional, who has strong management skills and understands language school provision are key requirements for this post. The appointee will have experience of forging strong local and international partnerships across the language/education sector. S/he will be flexible with a solutions-orientated approach to work and the ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and meet annual income targets. S/he will also possess good interpersonal skills, the ability to work using her/his own initiative, and show a commitment to continuous improvement of services and programmes.

We are looking for someone with First or Higher Degree in discipline relevant to the EPLC (e.g. Language or Business), or who has equivalent professional experience. The candidate must demonstrate significant experience in leading development strategies and driving growth and income in an English language school.
