Research Technician in School of Medicine, Ophthalmology
Boston University's School of Medicine, department of Ophthalmology is looking for a full-time Research Study Technician to join their team!
The Research Study Technician will primarily be responsible for:
- communicating with collaborators in other universities to receive eye tissues and process the tissue for light and electron microscopy.
- assisting in the preparation of eye tissues and communicating with collaborators to perform image acquisition using serial block-face scanning electron microscopy.
The specific responsibilities of this position include embedding, sectioning, imaging eye tissues for light and electron microscopy and data analysis as well as essential three-dimensional EM reconstruction tasks, such as management of the large data sets, identifications of target cells, labor-intensive tracings of target cells and organelles, creations of 3D models, and analyses of 3D structural data.
This position is grant funded.
12+ months of experience and Bachelor's degree required.
