The Department of Curriculum and Instruction, one of four departments in the Faculty of Education, is a dynamic centre in the Asia-Pacific region for teaching and research in the broad areas of curriculum and instruction. In addition to Faculty-based undergraduate teacher education, Postgraduate Diploma in Education, Master of Education, Doctor of Education and PhD programmes, the Department offers several Master of Arts programmes. 
 
The Department invites applications for appointment as Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor in STEM / Science (especially Chemistry and/or Physics) Education. Applicants should have relevant teaching experience in the design, implementation, and evaluation of STEM / school science education curricula, and demonstrated excellence in research on STEM / science education, including a record of active publication in peer-reviewed journals.
 
Applicants should have (i) excellent academic qualifications including a relevant doctoral degree; (ii) a strong commitment to excellent teaching; and (iii) a track record of active research and publications. A good knowledge of the Hong Kong education system or a related system, though not a requirement, is an advantage. The appointee will (a) teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels; (b) undertake scholarly research and seek external competitive research grants; (c) conduct teaching practice supervision; and (d) supervise doctoral students. Applicants for Associate Professorship / Professorship should have outstanding research and publications, as well as a track record of success in obtaining competitive research grants.
