Deputy Provost, York University Markham Centre Campus

York is bringing a new campus to the vibrant and growing Markham Centre, in collaboration with its partners: the City of Markham, The Regional Municipality of York, and Seneca College.

York University Markham Centre Campus, opening in 2021, will offer a comprehensive range of undergraduate and graduate degree programs, including diverse professional programs that encourage research and innovation at all levels. These programs will serve the diverse student population and meet the evolving needs of the local community and employers. In time, York University Markham Centre Campus will accommodate 10,000 students. 

As the inaugural Deputy Provost, York University Markham Centre Campus, you will provide collaborative academic leadership with respect to all aspects of design, development, and launch. Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President and working closely with the President, you will be the chief academic officer on campus and a key member of the University’s executive team.  You will work closely with the Deans of the various faculties that will have a presence in Markham, supporting the university’s overarching academic mission of excellence.

To deliver on this unique and transformational mandate will require a team effort and exceptional relationship building skills on the part of the Deputy Provost. As the champion of York’s mission in Markham, you will ensure that a lens of academic excellence and the student experience is driving all decision-making related to planning, budgeting, resource allocation, design, programming, etc. You will work with the senior management team in framing the governance and management structures and administrative services to support the academic mission.
