The Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT)

The Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT) comprises the Schools of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, Mechanical and Mining Engineering, and the Advanced Water Management Centre. These units are internationally recognised and their teaching and research successes create a stimulating environment within which the Faculty staff work.

The School of Chemical Engineering is an international leader in the chemical engineering field and has an excellent reputation which has been built over many decades at The University of Queensland. The School’s project-centred curriculum was recognised recently as an international exemplar of engineering education. Worldwide, UQ Chemical Engineering was ranked in the top 25 schools (QS Ranking 2016). It was also awarded the highest score for chemical engineering in Australia in the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) study (2015).

The role

The MOOC Project Coordinator will manage and coordinate all activities of the new MOOC MicroMasters in Sustainable Energy Program which will soon be developed and launched on the EDx online platform. The position will work with MOOC Program Coordinators and other academic contributors to support the development and evaluation of e-learning technologies, resources, and pedagogies.

The person

The successful applicant will have excellent attention to detail and knowledge of education, e-learning technologies and some design capabilities.  Experience in conducting primary academic research (e.g. including surveys and interviews), demonstrated leadership and management capability in the coordination of complex operations, and demonstrated planning, organising and on-time delivery of projects.

This role is a full-time position; however flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.


This is a full-time, continuing appointment at HEW Level  7. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,833 – $89,559 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,803 - $104,784 p.a.).
