You will work within a dynamic team of experts in bioenergy production and waste management to address the challenges of applying microwaves to biomass-to-liquid processes. This role aims at developing solid knowledge to consolidate the use of microwaves as heating system for the production of biofuels from biomass.
You will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in Chemical Engineering or related discipline. You will be an experimental researcher with broad experience in the catalytic upgrading of hydrocarbons derived from biomass, coal or petroleum fractions and will also have extensive experience in the characterization of liquid hydrocarbons by means of various analytical techniques, including gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
Communication skills, particularly a demonstrated ability to publish in prestigious international scientific journals is essential. An ability to conduct original experimental research independently and within a team, and to carry out sound judgement of research tasks are also essential, as is a positive attitude to internal and external collaborations.
