The Infrastructure Services and Operations function focuses on the delivery of day to day support and service to staff and students. The team works collaboratively across the IT function, partnering with other teams in the provision of a high quality, responsive and seamless service, and works to continuously improve services.

About the job

Reporting to the SOE Manager, we are currently seeking a System Configuration Analyst (Mac) for the efficient deployment of the Swinburne Standard Operating Environment on the various operating systems and platforms supported; desktop, server, mobile and virtual. You will be required to provide a high level of client driven service specifically with respect to ensuring the installation and configuration of user hardware and software is fit for purpose, effectively meeting client needs. You are able to build excellent rapport with users and where required provide some initial training and guidance with respect to the selection and use of the range of hardware and software to meet specific business needs. As a team player, you will actively participates in a continuous service improvement program.

The position will work across all campuses of the University as required.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Completion of a degree with subsequent relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise in technical or administrative fields; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education.
  • Experience in servicing and managing various operating systems for client computers in a large scale network environment (especially macOS, Windows, Linux)
  • Experience in the administration of a Microsoft Active Directory network environment
