The Opportunity

The School of Media, Film and Journalism at Monash University is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and enthusiastic Senior Lecturer in Communications and Media as the Director of its Master of Communications and Media Studies program. 

The Director will be required to continue to innovate and improve the high performance graduate coursework degree using advanced digital media content, strong industry connections and an international approach.

Responsible for the development of industry engagement, oversight of curriculum, hands on involvement in teaching and program administration and management, the successful candidate will ensure high academic standards, industry relevance and student satisfaction.

The Senior Lecturer (Education-focused) is expected to make significant contributions through engaging in educational scholarships whilst playing a leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review.

The successful applicant will have a strong understanding of the centrality of communication in contemporary society, an ability to demonstrate strong links in the media industry and a capacity to lead the design and delivery of a professional program in Communication and Media studies with focus on future professions in a changing media landscape.

This role is a full-time position; however, flexible working arrangements may be negotiated.
