The Board of Trustees of the Singapore Management University (SMU) invites suitably qualified applicants for the position of President to succeed Professor Arnoud De Meyer, who has announced his intention to remit office when his term concludes at the end of December 2018.

Established in 2000, SMU is an autonomous and specialised university that focuses on Management, Social Sciences, Law and Information Systems, and their intersections. Organised around six schools, SMU provides top-tier education and learning to over 10,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, executive development and continuing education for adult learners, and carries out meaningful, relevant and impactful research into global and local challenges. The University adopts an integrated research-teaching-learning-practice approach that fosters innovative learning experiences, produces influential change agents and leaders, and creates positive impact on business, government and society in Asia and beyond.

Having made very significant progress since its inception – and now working successfully towards its Vision 2025 – the University is seeking to attract candidates of the highest calibre, and to eventually appoint an inspirational, highly competent and accomplished university leader as its fifth President, to continue to lead the next exciting stage of its development towards becoming a great university.

Candidates should be able to evidence extensive depth and breadth of leadership and excellent “institution-builder” experience gained in a relevant environment, stellar academic credibility and research credentials in one of the disciplines covered by SMU, and the vision and ambition to drive the continued success of SMU locally, regionally and globally.
