About the opportunity
A Postdoctoral position is available immediately in the area of bioelectronics and bionics and in particular musculoskeletal tissue measurement and stimulation. The position is full-time fixed term for five years, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation period for new appointees. There is also the possibility of further offers of employment subject to performance, need and funding. Membership of a University approved superannuation scheme is a condition of employment for new appointees.
The Postdoctoral ResearchAssociate’s research focus will be on the development of a smart dressing interface and implant for musculoskeletal tissue. An ideal candidate would be capable of developing novel, body compatible systems and electronics for wearable and implantable medical devices.
The primary responsibilities of this position will include interface design for bioimpedance measurements, implant design and computational modelling. In all cases, mentors will be working with the researcher on a regular basis and all work is performed in a collaborative team environment.
Applications should include a research plan (not to exceed five pages), a detailed resume including a publications list, and the names and addresses of at least two references. The research plan should include half a page to one page outlining a program of research that you will lead and providing a strategic vision for your future research.

- PhD in medical sciences, physics or engineering
- Prior research experience in biosensors, implants and computational modelling.
- Demonstrated success in the publication of high-impact work in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals
- Ability to work in a complex and challenging environment.
