Faculty of Engineering Architecture and Information Technology
The Employability Advisor will join the Student Employability Team within the Faculty of Engineering, Architecture and Information Technology (EAIT). The Student Employability Team is the Faculty’s gateway for industry engagement with students. The team identifies and facilitates placement opportunities for all EAIT students and enhances the student experience and employability outcomes through the provision of a student employability program. This program fits within the broader University of Queensland's Student Employability Strategy and Employability Framework.
The Employability Advisor will contribute to the development, implementation and coordination of industry-student activities which benefit EAIT students by allowing them to better understand the professional environment in which they will work, and learn valuable employability skills. There is a strong focus on new business development and a key focus of the role will be to liaise with industry and researchers to place EAIT students undertaking full-time study in short or long-term positions within industry and research laboratories. In addition, the Employability Advisor will contribute to the development, implementation and delivery of employability related modules and activities to further prepare EAIT students for the graduate employment market.
Applicants should possess relevant tertiary qualifications and have experience in an area related to recruitment, employment or career services, new business cultivation and an understanding of labour market trends.
Well-developed interpersonal, communication and customer service skills are a must as is the ability to organise and priortise your own workload and manage competing requirements in a busy, fast-paced and energetic environment.
A key part of this role will be to cultivate and manage key relationships both internally and externally, therefore the ability to liaise and build effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders including students, staff and industry is a must.

This is a full-time, 2-year fixed term appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package will be in the range $74,207.07 - $79,964.50 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $86,822.27 - $93,558.47 p.a.).
