Salary Level: Classification Level 8 (Salary range A$92,743 to A$105,035 gross per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions)

Overview of Student Services and Engagement
Student Services & Engagement (SSE) is part of the portfolio of the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) who is responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction for the student experience, student success and retention. SSE strives to provide a positive, transformational experience for all USC students and has a broad brief to deliver key initiatives and services under the USC Student Success and Retention Blueprint.
SSE Services include USC-wide face-to-face, email and telephony to provide support and advice to students about administrative and academic matters; domestic admissions; credit application processing; course and program enrolment; examination and graduation services. SSE is also responsible for student finance services, administration of scholarships and the student information system. SSE Engagement activities include student communications; first year and academic program advice; orientation and student success programs for learning engagement; support for learning; and student health, wellbeing and disability support. Reflecting USC’s values, SSE manages USC’s comprehensive program of widening participation activities with communities and schools in its broader region. SSE strives to provide a best in sector approach for all USC students, and in doing so to develop opportunities for staff engagement and career development.
Overview of the Role
The position is part of the leadership team responsible for the delivery of multi-disciplinary student services and engagement staff who are responsible for providing timely advice, guidance, and wellbeing support to students in all aspects of their academic, personal and social engagement. This role is supported by the professional services located in USC Student Services and Engagement, and will work closely with the Fraser Coast campus staff to deliver an exceptional experience for USC students.
Under the broad direction of the Associate Director, Student Engagement, the role of Coordinator, Student Central is to provide innovative and proactive leadership in the operation and continuous improvement of USC Student Central Fraser Coast. The Student Central Team provide a wide range of advice to current and prospective students, academic and professional staff on all aspects of their academic progression, enrolment management and student support services. This includes specialist advice on program and course selection, progression and graduation, guidance and support to students through integrated and coordinated interventions, workshops and consultations. The Coordinator is responsible for student enquiry management; establishing and monitoring service standards across all communication channels; quality improvement efforts in all student contact areas as well as coaching, mentoring and supervision of staff.
As a Coordinator in the federated model of student service provision, this position will function as the SSE team leader at Fraser Coast and collaborates across the teams, (including but not limited to Wellbeing, and the Office of the Director of Northern Campuses) to ensure:
- the effective delivery of University events such as Student Orientation and transition activities, Open Days, and other identified events on campus;
- the delivery of multi-disciplinary student support programs at Fraser Coast;
- the effective day-to-day operations of counselling and disability services at the local site; and
- delivery of a quality student experience at Fraser Coast.
The successful applicant will hold a relevant postgraduate degree or progress towards postgraduate qualifications, and/or have extensive experience in managing a multi-disciplinary team; an understanding of the principles of student engagement and success; and an appreciation of the factors which impact the experiences of regional students in higher education; and the ability to strategically plan service delivery.
A requirement of employment is the expectation that non-standard working hours may be required during the academic year depending upon the demands of the area. Some after-hours work to assist at University events may also be required.
