About the job
Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, as the Senior Financial Accountant you will provide support in managing and ensuring the production of accurate financial statements, and management of the underlying financial processes and controls. As the subject matter expert, you will largely be responsible for the more complex processes and material balances that exist within Swinburne University and our controlled entities.
Working closely with other members of the Financial Control Team, you will provide mentoring and coaching guidance to other members of the team. In order to create and foster an agile and truly capable Financial Control Team, you will work collaboratively and openly with the broader Finance team and drive a culture of strong financial governance. A natural self-starter, you are adept at operating independently, and have a strong drive to improve processes and policies.
This is a 12 month limited tenure opportunity with potential to extend.
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Membership of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (CA) or Certified Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA).
- Substantive knowledge of local market statutory reporting requirements.
- Significant experience working in a large and complex organisation.
