DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL RELATIONS, MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor as a member of the Senior Executive Group, the Director will drive forward the ambitions of the University through a fully integrated team of over 180 staff which brings together colleagues engaged in marketing, fundraising, communications, alumni relations, student recruitment and admissions.
The Director will lead on the development of the University’s strategic positioning and profile externally and engage with key audiences including prospective/current students, staff, employers, institutional partners and other stakeholders to ensure that our research-led brand is globally recognised and embedded consistently. Key to our success is the strength of our value proposition and the Director will maintain oversight of global HE market dynamics to ensure that our offer remains attractive and competitive to our target markets.
To succeed you will already have significant leadership experience, gained at senior management level, in a combination of marketing, public relations, communications, internationalisation, student recruitment, widening participation and admissions. More importantly, you will be able to demonstrate success, in the development and operational delivery of effective marketing, communications and student recruitment strategies, delivered through large teams and their corresponding resources and budgets.
Key to your success will be a combination of impactful credibility aligned with vision, innovation, creativity and lateral thinking.
