About the opportunity
The Sydney School of Veterinary Science (SSVS) in the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney is ranked 1st in the Southern Hemisphere and 9th in the world in the QS World University Subject Rankings 2016, and rated 5/5 for research in the Australian Government’s 2015 Excellence in Research for Australia rankings.
We are currently seeking an Associate Professor or Professor in Small Animal Surgery. This position is based at the University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (UVTH) in Sydney which is located on the Camperdown/Darlington Campus. UVTH has a new surgery and anaesthesia wing incorporating industry-leading technologies for service and training. SSVS provides a range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs in veterinary and associated disciplines with the teaching hospitals providing the clinical learning experience for undergraduate and postgraduate students, interns and residents engaged in professional training programs.
In this role you will lead the development and delivery of first class teaching and an outstanding referral service in small animal surgery. You will advance knowledge in this specialty through research, supervision of postgraduate students and other scholarly activities.

Term and remuneration
The successful applicant will be offered a full-time continuing position, subject to the completion of a satisfactory probation and confirmation period for new appointees. A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
