Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in Big Data Analytics in the School of Public Health, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree by research or equivalent in Public Health, Social Sciences, Computer Science/Informatics or related disciplines.  They should also have at least 3 years’ experience in community-based research, as well as public health and population sciences research, with a strong quantitative background, preferably with demonstrated experience in application of family well-being and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in research.  Applicants should have the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, ability to work closely with external parties, including academics, social service groups, politicians, etc.  They should have excellent written and oral communication skills.  The appointee is expected to write scientific publications and reports, liaise with community parties and institutions.  He/She will be primarily responsible for methodological and applied work in statistical research for data in family and ICT behaviors arising from the project, reports, as well as relevant duties assigned. 
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
