About applications at St Mary’s University 

St Mary’s University runs a comprehensive suite of applications that support vital services, workflow engines and customer-facing applications that support the Staff and Student experience at St Mary’s. There are 40 major corporate applications at St Mary’s, spanning finance system, HR, timetabling, student accommodation, CRM, student records, to name a few.  And there are future plans to develop, improve and expand the applications portfolio under the remit of the new Chief Information Officer.  

About the post 

The Enterprise Architect will develop an overarching digital ‘eco-system’ and best practice around data management, data sharing, data reporting and data security.  They will work closely with the CIO and Head of Application Services to ensure that the emerging applications strategy is underpinned by cohesive, future proof technical architecture, technical design standards and cross-platform capability.   

The role holder will be effective in building partnerships with stakeholders, at all levels across the University.  They will also be skilled in working with internal and external suppliers and partners across the technology and Higher Education sectors. 

As well as having a track record of strategic technical design, medium to large scale system development and working to best practice standards (e.g. ITIL), the successful candidate will be a highly effective communicator and capable being understood by technical and non-technical audiences.
