Applications are invited for appointment as temporary Assistant Professor in the Department of Anaesthesiology, to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biomedical science, epidemiology or community medicine, preferably related to pain medicine.

They should also have substantial postdoctoral experience in clinical and laboratory based pain research, with an excellent track record of high-quality publications in the related areas.  Excellent knowledge of statistics and writing skills are required.  Success in research grant application is an advantage.  Preference will be given to those with proven capacity to
contribute to interdisciplinary and collaborative research in pain research with other hospitals or institutes in Hong Kong and overseas. They should possess a strong commitment to helping the Department develop and advance research programmes related to pain.  

The appointee will be responsible for population based pain research.

He/She will also be involved in other pain related research projects, including basic research in pain.  Special consideration will be given to those with experience in the supervision of research postgraduate students.
