About You

An excellent communicator and effective leader, you will demonstrate strong team building skills and inspire others through your enthusiasm and passion for your subject. You will have the ability to provide academic leadership in research coupled with very strong entrepreneurship skills and experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A strong publication record, successful track record of income generation and experience of supervising doctoral students are all essential as is the ability to contribute to the research mentoring of staff.

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint two Professors to lead activity in the areas of Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Cyber Security or Systems & Software Engineering. You will strengthen the Department’s presence and reputation and will complement existing areas of expertise in disruptive technologies, data analytics and visualisation. You will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate and/or postgraduate programmes, lead the Department’s research activity, and contribute, as appropriate, to the academic administration of the Department.

Specifically, applications are welcomed from candidates with specialist knowledge in any of the following areas:

  • Augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, immersive visualisation or visual computing
  • Security, Network Security, Cybersecurity
  • Systems & Software Engineering with potential interests in the areas of e-health, m-health, digital health, complex systems, cyber physical systems, embedded systems
