The School of Veterinary Science has a rich history having been founded in 1936 and has a reputation for graduating self-reliant, independent and highly capable veterinarians with plenty of initiative and drive. The School has high quality facilities at the UQ Gatton Campus, providing the teaching, research and clinical infrastructure and resources to develop its strong reputation as a leading provider of veterinary training, research and clinical care. The school also maintains a small animal hospital and large animal clinic at Dayboro, north-west of Brisbane.
To undertake research in the field of clinical and/or translational research in veterinary science. The successful applicant will collaborate with researchers in the School, participating in and initiating research projects, contributing to applications for external research support, and publishing in high-quality outlets. They will contribute to supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Applicants will have a PhD in a in a relevant field of veterinary science together with demonstrated expertise in academic research skills, including applications for funding support and high-quality publications.
This is a full-time fixed term appointment of 12 months at Academic level A. The remuneration package will be in the range $81,545.80 - $87,535.13 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $95,408.59 - $102,416.10 p.a.).
