The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic full-time bookseller dedicated to providing a high quality customer-focused service. Responsibilities of the post include: handling customer enquiries and taking orders; the promotion and display of stock; stock management (from invoice delivery to the generation of reading lists); conference support; using bibliographic databases and EPOS software; and other routine activities such as the opening and closing of the store.

In addition, this post will have responsibilities for maintaining, promoting and developing the new online bookshop and to support the financial and reporting requirements of the University Bookshop software system and the University finance system.

You will have good experience of working in a customer services environment, operating automated till systems and undertaking financial transactions. You will also be able to prioritise your workload under pressure. Good interpersonal skills and an enthusiastic approach are key requirements of this post, as is the ability to work independently and as a team member. Good manual handling skills are essential to the post. You will be educated to GCSE or equivalent with good numeracy skills.
