Senior Administrative Officer (Research) 

Location:     Jubilee Campus
Salary:     £22,494 to £26,829 per annum, depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for a confident administrator to take on an important role in supporting the research agenda in the School of Education and that of the University.  The role will include providing direction and advice to academic members of staff while supporting the Senior Administrative Manager. 

The role involves regular contact and communication with staff and a polite and helpful attitude is essential. In addition, you will be expected to contribute to the administrative support to the School as a whole and should be able to analyse and solve problems, have excellent planning and organisation skills, and have proven influencing and negotiating skills. You should be an excellent team player, have a flexible approach, be able to remain calm under pressure and enjoy dealing with administrative processes and people in a busy environment.   

The role will offer you the opportunity to work with a range of University departments and external organisations.  While simultaneously giving you the chance to help develop the role in an ever evolving landscape, to offer ideas on improvement of and further develop existing internal systems.
If you are someone that can work independently and in collaboration with others, can plan and organise your workload, deal independently with enquiries from staff and people external to the University and resolve issues/problems not of routine nature, this role is for you.

Candidates must have an HNC/D (or equivalent) and experience of working in a relevant role, or substantial work experience in a relevant, comparable role.

Hours for the post are full time and the role is available immediately on a fixed term basis until 26 October 2018.
