We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff. Leeds Arts University has been formally recognised as the new title for Leeds College of Art, after being granted full university status by the Privy Council.

The BA (Hons) Animation programme was introduced in September 2013 to run alongside the specialist BA (Hons) Graphic Design and BA (Hons) Illustration degrees. This highly demanding specialist course of study focuses on the role of applied animation in the contemporary creative industries and broader visual culture. The course has become a competitive choice for students who want to commit to an innovative course of study with a studio culture.

This role would suite someone working in a higher education environment and who wants to maintain their own practice. The main focus on the role will be to lead, develop, deliver, support and assess practice based Animation modules across level 4, 5 and 6. You will be expected to have a specialist understanding of a historical and contemporary animation practice with a focus on 3D Stop Motion and/or 2D Digital Animation on a practical, contextual and conceptual level. You will also be required to support the integrated theory and practice modules of the course at Levels 4, 5 and 6.
You will also need the skills or connections to build links with external employers, events and opportunities for exhibiting student work. Working individually and as a member of a team you will be expected to deliver teaching within a variety of settings including lecturer, seminars, studio workshops, peer reviews and individual tutorials.

The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in a relevant subject, be able to demonstrate extensive specialist animation skills and support critical thinking and reflective practice through to undergraduates Level 6.
