The Department of Educational Administration and Policy is an academic department in the Faculty of Education. Our academic staff members’ expertise and interests cover the foundation disciplines of educational leadership, management and administration, school improvement and school effectiveness, as well as sociology, philosophy, economics, comparative education and policy studies. Our interests also cover different sectors of education, such as early childhood education, elementary education, higher education and vocational education, with particular strengths in educational development in Chinese societies. The Department has a strong research profile and has established a wide research collaboration network internationally and in mainland China. We aim at achieving excellence in research and teaching that contributes to education locally, regionally and globally. The Department is now seeking distinguished scholars for appointment at various professoriate levels in the areas of Educational Leadership and School Improvement.

Applicants should have (i) a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline; (ii) a strong record of research and scholarship; (iii) proven ability and potential to bid for external competitive research grants; and (iv) experience of teaching in higher education and leadership programmes. Administrative/leadership experience in a school setting or international educational community would be an asset.

The appointee(s) will be expected to (a) engage in thematic research in the areas of Educational Administration, Management and Leadership and/or School Improvement and School Effectiveness; (b) contribute to teaching in various programmes and supervision of postgraduate students; and (c) play a proactive role in enhancing international collaboration.

Appointment(s) will normally be made on contract basis for one to three years initially commencing August 1, 2018, which, subject to funding, performance and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
