Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Curriculum & Pedagogy
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Curriculum & Pedagogy will undertake teaching and research within an academic staff team in the School of Education, recognising that the school delivers courses in flexible, fully on-line and face-to-face modes. The position may be teaching intensive or have a balanced research and teaching load focus informed by the appointee's expertise and experience. Regardless, the position has teaching delivery and teaching coordination responsibilities. A core accountability and outcome of the position is the preparation of teachers to understand broadly curriculum and pedagogy (with an emphasis on equity and diversity) and the diverse needs of learners. The appointee will undertake academic administrative tasks associated with their teaching and research activity and undertake Professional Experience visits.
In the role you will:
- Make an effective and sustained contribution to the University in achieving its strategic objectives and fulfilling its operational responsibilities.
- Undertake teaching and assessment of a high (Level B) / exemplary (Level C) quality in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching units and courses as required, incorporating online/flexible delivery strategies.
- Undertake high-quality research of national and increasingly of international standing, secure external competitive and other funding, publish research findings and successfully supervise research higher degree students to completion.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of productive and effective links inside the University and locally and nationally with the discipline, relevant interdisciplinary domains, profession, industry and/or wider community.
- Contribute to and develop collaborative research team(s) in field of expertise.
You will be employed on a continuing, full time basis.
To be considered, you will have:
- A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field.
- A good/strong record of, and continuing commitment to research that has achieved recognition and made contributions to the field of Curriculum and Pedagogy, particularly in the area of sport and exercise psychology and the psycho-social aspects of this field, demonstrated by a record of quality publications, presentations at conferences and success in securing external competitive and other funding.
- Experience in University-level teaching and learning in Curriculum and Pedagogy (with an emphasis on equity and diversity) particularly in relation to the diverse needs of learners, in both online and face-to-face modes.
- A record of contributing to building and maintaining effective and productive links locally and nationally with the discipline, profession, industry (where relevant) and wider community.
Appointment to this role will be at Lecturer (Level B) or Senior Lecturer (Level C) Academic Level:
Appointment to this role at Academic Level B will have a total remuneration package of up to $127,368 comprising base salary within the range of $92,326 - $108,862 plus 17% superannuation.
Appointment to this role at Academic Level C will have a total remuneration package of up to $150,401 comprising base salary within the range of $112,184 - $128,548 plus 17% superannuation.
