Role Dimensions

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Attila Brungs, seeks an exceptional leader of academic research to work with him, the Senior Executive and the Faculty Deans to achieve UTS's vision of becoming a world-leading university of technology.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) provides the leadership and vision to build UTS's national and international profile in research, research training and external research engagement.

In addition, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) will foster and promote a research culture that embraces change and encourages innovation and excellence.

We seek a person with high level and sophisticated leadership experience which has been demonstrated in a complex and large institution.

The successful candidate will:​

  • be a respected and experienced academic research leader with a demonstrated ability to effectively develop, drive, implement and deliver research strategy
  • be able to build close and effective relationships internally as well as externally engaging with government, business, industry and professional groups
  • be able to drive change and engage others in UTS's vision
  • have outstanding academic qualifications.
