Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive

Circa £150,000

Change is the defining feature of the 21st Century.

The University of Suffolk was founded on a bold vision of change: as the UK’s newest university, we are unencumbered by history and tradition and are committed to being an advocate and an agent of change. We’re strongly embedded in our local region where our unique, integrated partnership with four Colleges is central to our identity and vision for the future. Our academic strategy is equally as bold and we’re committed to an academic experience that develops a new kind of student.

While our focus is local, our ambitions are international. Universities must have national and international dimensions across their teaching, scholarship and research, reflecting the globally connected world in which we work. The University of Suffolk will compete with the rest of the Higher Education sector, achieving national and international impact through research and innovation, and bringing credit, prestige and opportunity to the region.

Following on from Richard Lister’s announcement of his retirement, we are seeking an exceptional Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive to lead the University and turn our bold vision into reality. You will continue to drive our ambitious and complex growth and transformation agenda at the heart of the Higher Education Sector. Playing a major role in shaping our future, you will ensure we develop to become a widely recognized in our field.

A deep understanding of Higher Education is essential, but you may have worked in a broader range of environments beyond academia and will bring a fresh perspective and entrepreneurial flair. We are looking for a driven, inspirational and highly respected leader with outstanding credentials, the highest level of personal credibility and exceptional relationship building skills. Whatever your story, you will immediately recognise the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity this role offers.
