An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Facilities & Professional Services Team for an Assistant Finance Manager based at the King’s Meadow campus.

We are looking for a self-motivated, highly organised individual used to working to strict deadlines to join the team. Preferably you will be studying towards an accounting qualification, or have relevant experience with knowledge of I&E and balance sheet accounting. It is not expected that the successful applicant will have experience of all of the responsibilities of the role and support will be given.

The main job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Providing financial and business advice to budget holders and business units
  • Compiling monthly management accounts including commentary for business unit management
  • Analysis of budget variances;
  • Preparation of detailed budgets, project costing and forecasts
  • Journal and accrual processing and other data entry;
  • Investigation and resolution of queries;
  • Coordination of year-end processes;
  • Maintaining a high level of customer service.

The Facilities and Professional Services Team consists of four CCAB qualified Finance Managers, an Assistant Finance Manager, a Finance Team Manager and a Shared Service Team of five support staff. Its remit is to provide financial management and business partnering support to Professional Service departments across the University including Nottingham Hospitality. This includes preparation of management accounts, quarterly forecasts, business cases, annual planning and budgeting, ATF approval, journal and transaction processing and purchase admin support to a range of business units.
