UTS Faculty of Law is seeking to recruit a PostDoctoral Research Fellow to be based in Centre for Media Transition (CMT), a joint initiative of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.
CMT explores and develops responses to the dramatic and ongoing movements wrought by digital disruption to the media industry, the role of journalism in Australian democracy, the implications and potential of evolving technology and the business models that support a diverse and prosperous industry.
To apply for this position you must have undergraduate qualifications in law, but our emphasis on interdisciplinary research means we welcome PhD graduates from any discipline. Your most important qualification is your interest in the changing media environment.
As a core member of CMT, you will conduct research that relates to the Centre’s overall strategic intent and the research program being developed for the period 2017-2019. This will include independent research as well as research on projects initiated by the Centre on topics such as media freedoms, media pluralism and the need for regulation and policy to adapt to new environments.
Base Salary Range: $99,924 to $114,343pa (Level B).
This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.
This appointment will be on a 36 month fixed-term, full-time basis.
