Lecturer in Soil Science
Established in 1984, the Griffith School of Environment delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programs across six discipline areas including; ecology and biodiversity; marine science; society and environment; soil, water and energy; urban and environmental planning and architecture. The School has an outstanding national and international reputation for excellence in teaching, research and engagement with the community. It is also highly regarded for its innovative and interdisciplinary approach to environmental education, scholarship and research. Our research in environmental science and particularly in the 'Soil Science', 'Ecology' and 'Ecological Applications' areas is rated as 'well above world standard' by the 2015 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) assessment.
This is a continuing, full time position based at the Nathan campus.
This continuing position will to contribute to the delivery of the undergraduate and Honours teaching as well as the supervision of higher degree research students. The position will also allow the successful candidate to undertake their own research and develop and/or strengthen internal and external collaborations with researchers in academia and relevant industries. The incumbent will benefit from existing affiliations with a number of research institutions within the Griffith Sciences group.
The Griffith School of Environment seeks to appoint a highly-motivated, productive scientist with a track record demonstrating external grant funding, publication of research outputs, collaboration as well as teaching and supervision of students. Evidence of strengths in teaching innovation and practice are essential. Applicants are required to have a PhD in relevant areas of soil science, earth science, land restoration and other relevant disciplines. The position requires a high level of written and oral communication skills in English and applicants are also required to have current and valid driving licences.
Lecturer, Level B: $90,697 - $107,706 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $106,116 - $126,017 per annum.
