We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Fellow to develop and enhance the learning and teaching activities of Aston Optometry School.  The successful applicant will be responsible for the design and content of specific areas of Optometry teaching and learning within our undergraduate and postgraduate taught programmes.

We are looking for a General Optical Council (GOC) registered individual with an Independent Prescribing qualification. A PhD in Optometry or a related area is also essential. In addition, we expect further development of our teaching programmes, engagement with our Optometry Summer School, and future publications in professional journals.

The Aston BSc Optometry programme was ranked 1st in the UK for Subjects Allied to Medicine in the 2015-16 Complete University rankings and is ranked highly in terms of student satisfaction. We are rated as excellent by the Teaching Quality Assessment and ranked 3rd out of 63 universities for research. We also have 98-100% graduate level employment with our students progressing to a wide range of career options in practice and research settings.
