The Role & Responsibilities
Based in Hong Kong at the Vocational Training Council (VTC) in the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE), the largest vocational education, training and professional development institution in Hong Kong, you will undertake academic duties as the representative of the Aerospace Engineering and Aviation discipline.
The position may require an initial period of six months at RMIT Melbourne, after which you will undertake a minimum three year secondment to VTC to foster and strengthen the RMIT-VTC partnership, as well as act as the liaison point for both Melbourne and Hong Kong-based academics and administrators of the Aviation program.
In this role you will teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level in Hong Kong as well as undertaking teaching in courses the School delivers in Singapore and China. You will also be expected to actively establish and promote research activities in Hong Kong, building academic, industry and professional links.
Skills & Experience Required
To be successful in this role you will need a PhD or equivalent in an appropriate field, have demonstrated sound knowledge and extensive expertise in aviation, along with an ability to prepare high quality curriculum and course materials at tertiary level for undergraduate and post-graduate programs.
Furthermore, you will have a strong research track-record along with a demonstrated ability to generate alternative funding projects and undertake research which will contribute to School research areas.
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively and collegially within a culturally diverse environment are essential to this role.
