Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to degree level;
  • Understanding of trends in e-marketing;
  • Be able to copywrite accurate and compelling content for marketing collateral;
  • Good photography/filming skills;
  • Digital Image editing skills;
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken in both English and Chinese languages), negotiation and presentation skills, including an ability to express complex ideas simply in a range of formats — print and online;
  • Evidence of strongly developed people skills, with an ability to deal with a wide range of people within a complex organisation, securing agreement and a sense of common purpose;
  • Ability to work on own initiative, establish goals and deliver positive outcomes;
  • The ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Demonstrable experience of managing social media and developing social media campaigns;
  • Understanding of the importance of marketing for the delivery of corporate objectives; and evidence of ability to translate this into action with positive outcomes;
  • Understanding of the changing marketing environment and ability to develop and implement strategies to take advantage of changing trends;

Desirable

  • Marketing and/or communications qualifications;
  • Professional photography/filming skills;
  • Experience of copywriting, or working within, international Higher Education or research fields;
  • Experience of delivering in-house publications;
  • Experience of planning, implementing and measuring marketing events and programmes (preferably in HE) to support strategic objectives.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Deputy Director of Communications in the day-to-day planning, development and implementation of communications activities;
  • Plan and produce content for the University social media channels;
  • Manage the University's main social media channels, blogging platform and monitor all UNNC social media accounts and provide advice to;
  • Offer guidance, support and training in using social media for colleagues who run departmental accounts;
  • Research and draft accurate and compelling media releases and articles on every aspect of University life and work;
  • Use digital and online resources to disseminate stories to a wide audience;
  • Produce social media analytics;
  • Organise photography and video projects for the University;
  • Support the development of promotional materials, working closely with the marketing team at The University of Nottingham in the UK to ensure branding;
  • Support marketing events, including open days and provide marketing support for some of the University's corporate events;
  • Participate in training and staff development events as trainer or trainee as appropriate;
  • Any other duties as appropriate to support the Communications and Marketing Team
  • Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness;
  • Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.
