The successful candidates will be involved in a technology transfer project in the area of electric power networks and integration of PV systems into these networks. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and implementing the required execution environment, IT back-end integration and user web-based user interfaces needed to bring a technology demonstrator for operational network monitoring and assessment of likely impact of additional PV systems to the stage of a working prototype. They will be assisted by three academics to provide them with the required domain knowledge and will be supervised and supported by the developer of the existing technology demonstrator.
Applicants must have a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software or Computer Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of experience, and/or education/training.
Ideally the successful applicants have solid experience in either design, implementation and commissioning of data and processing intense software systems, or design, implementation and commissioning of multi-user web-based interactive user interfaces.
The former should have experience with SQL database management systems, parallel computation and cluster management, while the latter one should have experience in developing for and maintainting Apache http server based user interfaces.

This is a full-time fixed-term (1 year) appointment at HEW Level 6. The remuneration package for HEW Level 6 will be in the range $74,207 - $79,964 per annum, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $81,257 - $87,561 per annum).
Systems Developer - Unix
This is a full-time fixed-term (1 year) appointment at HEW Level 7. The remuneration package for HEW Level 7 will be in the range $81,884 - $89,559 per annum, plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 9.5% (total package will be in the range $89,663 - $98,067 per annum).
There is a possibility of extension for both positions subject to funding.
