The Graduate School of Health (GSH) plays a significant role in the strategic development of UTS as the University expands its research strength and degree offerings in Health. GSH is focused on postgraduate education and research. The School commenced in 2011 with the establishment of the pharmacy discipline. Currently, the GSH delivers graduate-entry masters’ degrees and high impact research in pharmacy, orthoptics, clinical psychology and physiotherapy with a view to further expansion.

The Master of Physiotherapy is fully accredited (with conditions) by the Australian Physiotherapy Council, and approved by the Australian Physiotherapy Board of Australia and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a qualification leading to registration as a physiotherapist in Australia. The program differentiates itself by offering a blended, innovative, practice-orientated and case based problem solving physiotherapy education. As such, the course prepares students for a rewarding career as a Physiotherapist of the future.  We are seeking to appoint a Clinical Education Manager to further develop the clinical education program in physiotherapy, to provide and coordinate clinical placement supervision, and contribute to the professional practice curriculum within the discipline.

You will operate at a high level of professional and ethical practice, building important professional relationships with external clinical placement sites and providing strong support to educators and students. Essentially you will be the ‘face’ of UTS physiotherapy in the clinical settings and will be responsible for consolidating current relationships and building relationships with new placement sites.Therefore, the key to success in this role will be your excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated skills in strong relationship development.

You will also bring to this role:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in physiotherapy, AHPRA endorsement, and considerable clinical experience as a practicing physiotherapist
  • Advanced skills in clinical supervision and in professional practice
  • Experience of working in an academic or clinical education role in a University
  • An understanding of the challenges facing clinical supervisors in taking students and the ways to minimise these challenges and methods to encourage new supervisors

For appointment at the higher level you will also have:

  • Previous experience in teaching and course coordination at university level
  • Experience contributing to research relevant to clinical education or physiotherapy
  • A PhD (or near completion) in an area relevant to clinical education or physiotherapy (desirable but not essential)

Remuneration & Benefits

Base Salary Range:

Associate Lecturer (level A): $75,120 - $91,461p.a

Lecturer (Level B): $99,924 - $114,343p.a

This role attracts 17%superannuationin addition to the base salary. Employee benefits include flexible work practices, child care centres, generous parental leave and salary packaging opportunities.

This position is full-time and appointment will be made on a continuing basis.
