Job Description

Coordinate research projects in the Approach Motivation and Participation (AMP) lab within Sargent College's Department of Occupational Therapy. The AMP Lab is focused on uncovering biopsychosocial mechanisms of human motivation and emotion, particularly among people with serious mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia) and neurodegenerative disorders (e.g., Parkinson disease). Projects incorporate mobile technologies as assessment and intervention tools.

Position responsibilities include directing participant recruitment and scheduling, assisting in manuscript writing, presentations and grant applications, running research experiments with participants, and managing volunteers and other lab staff members. Additionally, will train incoming lab members on data collection and other activities. Position is for an initial hire term of one year and is contingent upon the continued availability of funding.

Required Skills

Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field and at least 2 years of relevant work experience required. Masters degree in social work, psychology, or occupational therapy preferred. Additionally, strong interpersonal and impeccable organizational skills, ability of work well as part of a team, ability to gather, process and analyze laboratory and field-based behavioral and psychophysiological data, experience with data analytic and experiment software (SPSS, R, MATLAB, E-Prime), general knowledge of computing and experience interacting/working with individuals with mental illness preferred.
