*Please note that we are able to consider an appointment on either a full or part time basis for this post*

York St John is an ambitious, modern university at the heart of historic York and there’s never been a more exciting time to join us.

After investing over £110 million in our campus and facilities, establishing nine schools across multiple expertise and developing a suite of attractive, contemporary courses, we’ve seen the biggest rise across all English universities in UCAS acceptances this year.

Central to our ambition is an absolute commitment to academic excellence.  Over a third of our research is already world leading or internationally excellent and we’re going further and faster to enhance this, with collaborative opportunities to do work that makes a real world impact and promotes social justice.

We’ve also created the conditions for quality teaching to thrive.  We’re third in the UK for the proportion of our academics with formal teaching qualifications, we’re a consistent Stonewall Top 100 employer and we hold the Social Enterprise Gold Mark for Responsible Business Practice.  Our strength lies in our community: renowned for our friendly, supportive environment we will nurture your talent so that you can accomplish your ambitions.

As part of our expansion we are recruiting for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy. Health Sciences is a vibrant, ambitious School with an exciting opportunity for a highly professional, enthusiastic and committed Health and Care Professions Council registered physiotherapist to join us. You will hold a Master’s degree and will complement the existing teaching / research activities within the present physiotherapy team by contributing to the highly successful BHSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, and MSc (Pre-registration) physiotherapy programmes, in addition to teaching on other related programmes. We are also interested to hear from individuals with considerable clinical expertise in cardiovascular respiratory physiotherapy, who are capable of generating enthusiasm and commitment in our students and who have the ability to inspire, motivate and connect with a wide range of people from students, staff and clinical partners.

Appointment at Senior Lecturer level may be offered if you are able to demonstrate the ability to make a leadership contribution to the physiotherapy curriculum, research or CPD portfolio.

If you'd like to shape the story of a 175 year old institution with a fantastic future, we'd love to hear from you.

We are committed to diversity and inclusion within our workforce and welcome applications from all backgrounds

Please note that CVs will not be accepted in place of the application form.
