The School of Business IT and Logistics is the largest provider of Business IT and Supply Chain Management programs in Australia, with programs at undergraduate and graduate level. It has a vibrant research agenda, with over 100 Higher Degree research students. It is a truly international School, with programs in Melbourne, Vietnam, Shanghai, Singapore and online. The School is dedicated to industry connection and placements and has close partnerships with industry and professional associations.

The School has an ambitious agenda to establish RMIT University as a world leader in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. The field has a 40 year history of successful research and education and is now in a period of considerable growth. The area has also attracted large and growing numbers of PhD candidates. The appointee will join a strong group of researchers and educators and have access to state of the art facilities in the centre of Melbourne.

The School has identified the following focus areas for logistics and supply chain research: sustainability and green supply chain, global operations and supply chain modelling; retail logistics, technologies in supply chain, and transport logistics.

The Associate Professor in Supply Chain Management will be a senior academic and researcher and will be expected to contribute to the future direction of the School in research and teaching. The role will provide high level academic and research leadership and foster an exciting research culture and building research performance. The incumbent will undertake academic leadership roles within the School, College, and University and externally with industry.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Supply Chain Management or a closely related field, strong research track record in areas of Logistics and Supply Chain Management and the development, implementation and delivery of best practice, innovative learning and teaching, with experience of an on-line environment desirable. A commitment to collaborative relationships is required.
