The Portfolio supports the research activity of staff and student researchers with professional development, collaboration and funding opportunities, ethics and responsible conduct compliance, contract development, intellectual property, project completions and profiling.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Senior Coordinator, Post-Award Services is accountable for the provision of high quality, customer-focused support to RMIT researchers who have been successful in obtaining external research funding. The Senior Coordinator, Post-Award Services is responsible for leading and developing the Post-Award Services team to support the acceptance and management of external research grants and contract research funding and the monitoring of University compliance with the contractual obligations of research funding agreements.

The Senior Coordinator, Post-Award Services will liaise with external funding bodies and collaborators as required, and will assist in developing close links with other functional areas of the RMIT community including Financial Services, Human Resources and other Research Office teams.

Skills & Experience Required

You will have significant experience in research administration and external research funding management, preferably in the higher education sector. You will also have experience in reviewing and negotiating external funding contracts/agreements and demonstrated understanding of research accounting and/or invoicing issues. Furthermore your experience in the leadership and development of a team, with the proven ability to motivate staff and coordinate activities and staff in a busy and multi-tasking environment will be essential to your success in this role.
